The Transportation Accountant has primary responsibility in Operations Accounting for the management of freight invoice audit and payment on behalf of our clients.  The individual in this role serves as the primary contact with client representatives on all issues and questions involving audit, funding and payment of carrier invoices for the clients’ shipments. Other responsibilities include running aging reports from Oracle in order to identify any approved carrier invoices not funded by client, creating and maintaining historical payment analysis file, and assisting in the maintenance and processing of credits.
 

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience with a Transportation Management System or in the transportation industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with an accounting and reporting system such as Great Plains is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills (especially in Excel) are essential.
  • Good analytical, communication, and organization skills.
  • Willingness to assist other team members to meet client requirements.
