Category Insights Manager-Kroger
JOB SUMMARY
The Kroger Category Insights Manager will be a customer facing role who will be responsible for delivering fact-based, insight-led opportunities accompanied with actionable, quantifiable solutions to drive growth for the category, Kroger and The Wine Group.
The Kroger Category Insights Manager should be a thought leader with the capability to translate consumer and data trends into value-creating business solutions around assortment, joint planning, and programs through the utilization of a broad range of resources and tools
This person should possess a passion for results, bias for action, and strength in communication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop positive relationships with the retailer, building the trust and credibility which will earn The Wine Group a greater share of mind
Develop business acumen with the division category managers
Continually evaluate & monitor programming effectiveness and ROI. Provide analysis & opportunities with actionable recommendations
Continually evaluate and monitor assortment. Provide analysis & opportunities with actionable recommendations
Identify business growth opportunities and deliver solutions benefiting both Kroger and The Wine Group
Help build ecommerce strategies as Kroger's continues to evolve and the shoppers continue to migrate to digital purchasing
Champion Kroger shopper card insights throughout The Wine Group organization for use with Brand, Marketing, Analytic teams and Trade development
Ad Hoc and Ongoing Data Management, Reporting and Presentation Building
Be proficient in customer point of sale (IRI), Syndicated data (Market Measures & ACNielsen), loyalty data (84.51)
Have an understanding of space planning JDA software
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of CPG Account and/or Category Management
5+ years of business analytics leveraging syndicated data resources (i.e. IRI, AC Nielsen, Scan, Panel, Spectra, etc.)
3+ years of business analytics leveraging shopper card data sources (i.e. 84.51/Stratum)
Highly proficient in MS Office applications (i.e. Excel & PowerPoint)
Willingness to travel (up to 10% of time)
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Category Management / Shopper Insights
Strong analytical experience from situation assessment through solution with tangible results
Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience, including “Storytelling” capability within PowerPoint which has compelled customer decision making and action
Space management tool experience (i.e. JDA)
Forward-looking, creative and strategic thinking ability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to perform repetitious lifting of weights up to 50 lbs. for substantial lengths of time throughout the shift, as well as tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting.
