Production Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor will lead the Westfield production team in continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor works in cooperation with the Senior Inventory Supply Analyst on schedule attainment to meet budgeted volume. This position also works with the Maintenance Manager and the maintenance team on decreasing downtime and improving line efficiencies. The Production Supervisor gathers data to identify areas of improvement and communicates that to the rest of the team. This position will also enforce company rules and policies as well as the language in the bargaining agreement between TWG and the United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 1-D. Ideal candidates have a degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering, and have 3+ years' supervisory experience in a high speed manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use production data and hands-on observations to improve bottling efficiencies and first pass quality
Coach and lead employees to a higher level of engagement and ownership
Implement lean manufacturing principles such as 5s and root cause analysis
Recommend continuous improvement ideas for better efficiencies to upper management
Direct and mentor employees on SOP development, implementation, and training
Create an open environment with employees to standardize procedures and visualize the workplace
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Evaluates the performance of manufacturing systems, equipment, and components
Must apply knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical adjustments, and methodical troubleshooting for improvement recommendations
Develop manufacturing system knowledge across multiple bottling lines by studying facility, manufacturing, and process equipment requirements
Ensure proper staffing is scheduled to achieve daily goals while staying within the budget
Make recommendations for projects that directly improve line efficiency
Inputting of daily receivables into J.D. Edwards
Generate various efficiency and productivity reports
Cross-train to backup other plant job functions as needed
Develop training matrix and requirements for All Purpose Wine Worker skill levels

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years or older at time of hire.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering; mechanical aptitude is a must
3+ years of supervisory experience within manufacturing environment (food and beverage preferable)
Advanced PC skills (Excel, Word, Access)
Good written and verbal communication skills to employees and upper management
Extremely detail oriented
Ability to be a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Must be able to juggle multiple priorities with tight deadlines
Must be self-motivated, articulate, empowered, and creative
Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.
Knowledge of or ability to be trained in TWG software programs (J.D. Edwards) J.D. Edwards/ERP experience preferred
CPG and/or wine industry experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to travel to facilities in California when required
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in rare circumstances
