Shipping Receiving Clerk
JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will report to the DTC Logistics Manager and will be responsible for performing various types of product packing and shipping in accordance with established procedures and standards. This role will support all departments by receiving incoming packages, inventorying items, receiving, and checking the contents of packages against packing lists and invoices. This position is responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into databases, ensuring that all necessary information is entered and accurate, in addition to occasional customer service duties. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, accuracy, attention to detail and is great at managing their own time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ship orders in a time sensitive and cost-effective fashion
Audits each outgoing shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match orders
Create accurate shipping labels for all outgoing orders
Responsible for ordering Benziger and Imagery wines for the shipping department
Responsible for ordering wine shippers and retail packaging for the shipping department
Responsible for checking in all Benziger wine orders from Redwood and Wineshipping
Sample and transfer paperwork
Master UPS, FedEx, GSO, and Ship Compliant software
Deliver incoming packages to correct locations from UPS and FedEx
Receive and count merchandise items that are delivered and inform the Retail Merchandising Manager of arrival
File damage claim paperwork
Must have transportation to collect paperwork and packages from sister winery, Imagery, daily
Communicate with customers and tasting room staff about weather delays and follow-up on returned shipments
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory of wines, inventory conducted monthly and quarterly inventories at winery locations
Accurately enter data into corresponding databases and fields
Process inventory movements within ERP system
Communicate with outbound sales team and process orders daily
Occasionally assist with customer service

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum one year of experience in a winery or other high velocity work-manufacturing environment or equivalent education/work experience preferred
Must be 21 years or older at time of hire
Strong attention to detail
Ability to set priorities and work independently within set guidelines; display appropriate sense of urgency
Strong written and oral communication skills
Basic knowledge of MS Office applications, including Excel
Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently
Previous shipping experience preferred
Positive and professional attitude
Forklift Certified preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to lift trucks; pallet jacks; hand trucks, etc.
Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing and twisting in the performance of various tasks in the production environment
